Delta to Offer Premium Select Seats on Cross-Country Flights

Delta’s got your back (and your knees!) with Premium Select seats on transcontinental flights, promising elevated dining, more legroom, and fewer neighborly invasions of your personal space.

Set to launch in September, this upgrade hopes to entice travelers to opt for that extra comfort. Premium Select, a recent addition to major airlines’ offerings, bridges the gap between first/business class and regular economy on longer, mainly international flights. It’s like getting a taste of luxury without the major price tag.

When does the service with the new seats begin?

Starting September 10, Delta will introduce this new service on four out of eleven peak-day flights between Los Angeles and New York’s JFK Airport, on Boeing 767s with plans to expand it later this year. Standard economy ticket holders can opt for upgrades to premium economy on these routes, and Medallion elite members may qualify for complimentary upgrades to Delta Premium Select, with the option to also list for upgrades to Delta One.

Previously, Delta’s premium economy seats were marketed as tickets with extra legroom only. Now, the new seats on transcontinental flights include amenity kits, noise-canceling headphones, full meals, and blankets, offering an upgraded premium economy experience.
