Etihad is the latest airline to dive into a free stopover scheme, gifting you the opportunity to lengthen your vacation by a few days.
The airline previously ran similar offers but has opened it up for anyone flying with the airline with a connecting flight in Abu Dhabi.
How does it work?
It’s pretty simple. First, passengers book a roundtrip with a connecting flight in the airline’s primary hub of Abu Dhabi. Once that’s complete, they can check hotel availability for their dates. There are over 20 hotels, ranging from the Grand Hyatt to the Shangri La.
Once customers make their selection, they’ll be able to book two free nights, barring a small fee equating to around $10. The booking also functions as an Abu Dhabi pass, giving them discounted entry to a number of the city’s most popular attractions.
Why should you take advantage?
If you have the time and the interest, it seems mad not to take advantage of this kind of offer. Not only are you extending your vacation by a few days, but you’re also getting the opportunity to explore one of the most innovative corners of the planet right now.
Even if you can’t take as much time as you’d like, splitting up a trip a little can help cut your overall costs and take out two travel birds with one stone.
There are a few blackout dates, so make sure to compare your travel dates before trying to book. It’s worth moving the trip a few days in either direction to make the most of the deal.
