Is Halo Coming to PlayStation 5? Everything You Need to Know About the 2026 Remake

What Makes the New Halo Campaign Different from Combat Evolved Anniversary?

Microsoft is bringing back the game that started it all. Halo: Campaign Evolved arrives in 2026 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.

This marks the second time the original Halo: Combat Evolved gets a fresh coat of paint. The first remake came in 2014 as Combat Evolved Anniversary. Now, 25 years after Master Chief’s debut, Halo Studios rebuilt the entire campaign using Unreal Engine 5 and upgraded everything to 4K.

What’s New

  • Three bonus missions that take place before the original story
  • New areas, characters, and enemies you’ve never seen
  • Completely redone music and voice recordings
  • Cross-platform co-op for up to 4 players online
  • Split-screen for 2 players on consoles only

The original Halo launched in 2001 on Xbox and introduced players to Master Chief and Cortana (the AI companion, not the Windows feature). It changed gaming forever.
