Are You Making a Disappointing Mistake With Your Old Steam Page Graphics?
Valve has updated the Steam Store to make it easier and more enjoyable to use. The changes make game pages look better and help you see more about a game at a glance. These improvements are now available to everyone on the Steam client and the website.
A Wider, Cleaner Look
The most noticeable change is that store pages are now wider. They have grown from 940 pixels to 1200 pixels wide. This means the page fills more of your screen, especially on modern monitors. Valve chose this size because it shows more information without making the page feel cluttered.
Even if you have a smaller screen, the page will adjust to fit perfectly. The design works well on all devices, including:
- Desktop computers
- Tablets and mobile devices
- The Steam Deck
This wider look also applies to search results, bundle pages, and recommendation lists, creating a more consistent experience across the store.
See Games in Greater Detail
The area for trailers and screenshots has been significantly improved. You can now view images and videos in three different ways.
- Default Mode: The standard view you are used to.
- Theater Mode: A larger pop-up view that focuses on the video or screenshot.
- Full-Screen Mode: Fills your entire screen for a complete, immersive view.
This update allows for higher-resolution images, so you can see games in sharper detail than before.
More Engaging Game Pages
Game pages themselves are more visually appealing. They now feature subtle background imagery taken from the game’s art, which makes each page feel more unique and immersive.
Developers also have new tools to improve their “About the Game” section. They can now include larger, higher-quality images and even embed videos directly in the description. This helps them better explain what their game is all about and create a more polished presentation.
